The Track-shun video podcast looks at the very latest TV anime releases to determine whether or not fans should look forward to (track) or ignore (shun) these series. The program is hosted by Chris Swett, and offers several native language clips from each anime series reviewed. Each episode covers three recent series from Japanese television and utilizes H.264 format for all devices. Links and info at Track-shun.tv.

    Episode 78 looks at "Umi Monogatari", "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0" and "Tayutama". Umi Monogatari is a magical girl series, much like any other, except for the beautiful underwater scenes and scenic backgrounds. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is a disaster epic based on realistic scenarios focussing on two children and their trek back home after the disaster. Tayutama is a high school fluff piece with some good action but not much of a story.[Japanese clips are subtitled in English.]

Beast Player Erin is a bland epic aimed at an eight year-old audience, which doesn't live up to either Production I.G. or NHK TV. Minami-ke Okaeri is a slice-of life anime about three sisters and their friends. [Japanese clips are subtitled in English.]
